San Jacinto College to host creative writing camp for students
Area students are invited to practice their creative writing skills during a weeklong camp from 8-10 a.m. July 9 through July 13 at San Jacinto College, located at 8060 Spencer Highway, in Pasadena.
The cost of the camp is $25 and is designed for students in grades 4-12.
During the camp, students will participate in exercises that focus on the elements of fiction and poetry, writing games, discussions on short stories and peer editing. Participants also will present a slam and read their work to parents and the community.
The camp will be lead by English professor David LeMaster, a prolific author who has written more than 50 short stories and plays.
