Sam Rayburn High School marching band continues 'cool-down' tradition
The Sam Rayburn High School Marching Band continued its cool-down ritual during a visit from the Pasadena Fire Department on Aug. 10. Pasadena Fire Department Station 4 dispatched a fire truck to the high school to spray down the band at the end of practice after temperatures climbed to 100 degrees that day. While the band was in marching formation, band director Jeff Embrey manned the fire hose with the assistance of Pasadena Fire Department personnel to spray the cold water on the group, a tradition that began three years ago. Sam Rayburn High School is located at 2121 Cherrybrook Lane in Pasadena.
